Mother's Musing: Last Minute

Too many times I am a last minute person.  Normally I have birthday parties all planned out at least a month ahead of time.  This time...Monday was my come up with an idea day for a party on Sunday.  My "idea" meant a last minute trip to the local orchard for pumpkins.  Of course living in the midwest can be an adventure once in awhile, last night we had snow!   Made for a chilly, wet trip but the kids still had fun.

Now we are set for pumpkins for baby girls birthday party.  More on her party next week!!!!!

Currently 10/26

The last few months I have been doing a "Currently" post.  It is fun for me to think about my week. To open up, and show bits and pieces of my daily thoughts, and life.  I'm linking up with Becky from Choose Happy.

What a busy weekend of birthday fun!  Daddy was out of state for a Men's Retreat so the kids and I kept busy.

Fun Weekend...Sunday afternoon, we picked Grandma up for some fun at our local corn maze!

Content....Sunday night, the kids and I meet a friend and her girls for an evening out.  Content to spend time with friends, letting the kids run free, and have an awesome adult conversation!

Planning...A 2 year old birthday party this weekend!  Finally this morning some of my ideas are coming together.

Currently 10/21

Another crazy week, someday it will slow down and I know I will miss this.

Enjoying....This beautiful fall weather we are having.  Took the little ones for a walk the other day, takes MUCH longer with them but, they sure enjoy the leaves, sticks, and everything they see as treasures in their eyes!

Project....I wanted a scarecrow for out in the yard but couldn't find anything I really liked in the stores.  So, I made my own out of some misc materials around the house.  He turned out cute but keeps falling over when against the tree.  I think I am going to need to figure out a different spot for him to sit.

Working on....A coffee table redo.  I saw the idea on Pintrest and realized we had an almost exact table in the basement.   With the loveseat added to the living room that this one might fit better.

The before

More to come next week hopefully!

This Old House: Fall House Tour

Fall is normally my favorite season.  Also tends me to the season that is decorated the most in my house.  This year I have kept it even more simple then normal due to our crazy lives!

Earlier this week I shared my section of my outside decor.  I really wanted a wood sign so I went to the shed, grabbed a scrap piece of lumber and free handed FALL onto it.  Not exactly what I wanted but it works.  Grabbed the kids picnic table, mum, and pumpkin and it turned into a neat little display by the driveway.

Top of the piano in the living room tends to be another place I like to change things up.  So I wiped off the chalkboards that had 'Back to School' on them and did a fall theme on them.

The china hut in the dining room normally is my spot.  Right now, this is all we have.  November I will put some fun Thanksgiving things up and we will start our 'Thankful' leaves.  With baby girls birthday coming up, I decided to keep it very simple for now.

Couple years ago I made this super cute canning lid pumpkin.  Then put the owl from baby girls birthday party next year.  I love walking into the entry seeing these.

Who doesn't love duck fabric for fall?  Last year I bought some duck fabric on clearance and yesterday I took the time to make a couple cushions for the couch and loveseat!

More to come later in the fall.

Busy Month

This month sure has started off busy and stayed busy.  So many things happening and to look forward to!!!!

Apple Orchard Day with my little ones.  My little guy had a field trip for school to the local orchard.

Fall Decorations...I started putting out a few fall decorations.  Hopefully a fall hour tour later this week.

Canning...Today I was busy canning grapes.  I picked 2 bushels off our vines and there is still a lot more.  My canning jars are almost all full after 28 quarts of grape juice and 9 pints of grape jelly!

Grateful for...
