Currently 3/27

I've have been doing a "Currently" post for quite awhile now.  It is fun for me to think about my week. To open up, and show bits and pieces of my daily thoughts, and life.

Chaos...The week has been full of memories, blessings, a few 'momergencies' and exhaustion.  With all that having been said, not many pictures were taken!
Blessed...I love working with people that have the same passion for helping others as I do.  To see these leaders step up in front of a bunch of people that they probably don't even know and teach, share and help is an amazing feeling.  Even better having my mentor come  for a few days, some super good talks, late nights and a couple amazing classes.

And to truly show the chaos it's Wednesday and I'm finally posting my Monday post!!!

Hope your week is going well and not quite as chaotic as here.

Word of the Year: Self Care Vol 10

vol 10 Self Care Kit

What does self care mean?  Self care is any activity that you do voluntarily that helps you maintain your physical, mental or emotional health.  It can help you feel healthy, relaxed and ready to take on your work and responsibilities.

For when you need a little extra time to regroup.

My Self Care Kit

Many of these things I have made myself.

Left to Right: Bath Salts, Kids Bath Bombs, and Sugar Scrub

Recipes below:

Bath Salts
Ingredients:
1 cup Epsom Salt
1 tb Baking Soda
10 drops favorite essential oil.
Directions:
1. Add essential oil to the epsom salt and baking soda in jar, shake to mix.
2. Pour into warm bath and enjoy!

DIY Confetti Bath Bombs
Ingredients:
1 cup citric acid
1 cup baking soda
½ cup cornstarch
½ cup doTERRA Fractionated Coconut Oil
10 drops Citrus Bliss Invigorating Blend
Sprinkles
Food Coloring
Silicone Mold

Directions:
  1. Place citric acid, baking soda, cornstarch, and Fractionated Coconut Oil into bowl.
  2. Add Citrus Bliss essential oil blend.
  3. Mix well until soft dough is formed. It should have the consistency of mildly-damp sand and should hold together when pressed. If mixture is too wet, add baking soda and cornstarch.
  4. Add food coloring and mix until color is evenly distributed.
  5. Press mixture firmly into silicone mold and sprinkle the top with your favorite party sprinkles. Let dry for 24 hours before removing from mold.
  6. Bath bombs are ready to use! Simply drop in tub full of water and allow to dissolve completely.

Sugar Scrub

Ingredients:
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup coconut oil
15 drops essential oil of your choice

Directions:
1.  Mix all ingredients and store in an air tight jar.
2.  Use 1 tablespoon as needed in the shower. Scrub skin with the mixture and rinse will. Your skin will feel amazing soft!

My Personal Favorite Oils

Lavender, Balance and Hope

Lavender has been used and cherished for centuries for its unmistakable aroma and myriad benefits. In ancient times, the Egyptians and Romans used Lavender for bathing, relaxation, cooking, and as a perfume; it is widely used for its calming and relaxing qualities which continue to be Lavender’s most notable qualities. Lavender is frequently used to reduce the appearance of skin imperfections. Add to bath water to soak away stress or apply to the temples and the back of the neck. Add a few drops of Lavender to pillows, bedding, or bottoms of feet to promote a restful night’s sleep. Due to Lavender’s versatile properties, it is considered the must-have oil to have on hand at all times.

Balance, creates a sense of calm and wellbeing. Blend of Spruce, Ho Wood, Frankincense, Blue Tansy, and Blue Chamomile with Fractionated Coconut Oil to offer an enticing fragrance that promotes tranquility and relaxation. Spruce, one of the oils in Balance, was used by Native Americans for health and spiritual reasons and is still used today to bring harmony to the mind and body. Ho Wood, Blue Tansy, and Blue Chamomile can ease anxious feelings, while Frankincense provides a grounding, balancing effect on emotions.

Hope, uplifts mood with a bright, fresh, scent.  Provides a unique aroma profile.

What are your favorite essential oils?

Word of the Year: Self Care Vol 9

Vol 9 Stepping Away

What does self care mean?  Self care is any activity that you do voluntarily that helps you maintain your physical, mental or emotional health.  It can help you feel healthy, relaxed and ready to take on your work and responsibilities.

I will be completely open and honest with you...I've really been struggling lately.  March is always a very busy time of the year, weird weather in the Midwest, etc.  Yesterday I was feeling SO overwhelmed and out of shorts, that I grabbed my cell phone, put my oldest in charge for 15 minutes and stepped outside for a quick run.  Thankfully where we live in the county I can do a mile with keeping the house in my view the whole time!  I needed that 11 minutes to get outside, run and clear some cobwebs out of my head as my mom use to tell me as a teen.  When the kids were even smaller, I would just head out for a minute or 2, sprint to the mailbox, or just around the whole house.  Taking your self out and away from everyone, as long as they are all safe does a mom good, to just regroup even if just a couple minutes outside!

It might also mean, asking someone to watch kids for an hour or two so you can go get groceries and have a little time in the car alone.  As a mom, at time I feel like I need to 'do it all', but that is really not the case.  Do NOT feel guilty for asking for help, it will make you a better mom.

Because sometimes, you need to step outside, get some air, and remind yourself of who you are and who you want to be.

Take a little time to reflect with me....who are you?  And even more, who do YOU want to be?!??!?!

Currently 3/13

I've have been doing a "Currently" post for quite awhile now.  It is fun for me to think about my week. To open up, and show bits and pieces of my daily thoughts, and life.

Thankful for...A hubby who asks for mini date nights.  Niece came and watched kids after supper so we could go to town and buy groceries for the upcoming party.  Then out for ice cream after.

Birthday Party...Minecraft party happened at our house yesterday!  Super fun, easy party.  More to come later this week.

Start of....SPRING BREAK!!!!  This morning then finished up putting together the 5 sets of Legos he got for his birthday.

Craziness...After getting back from Orlando it was more pure craziness at our house.  Ear infections, planning for a birthday party, laundry, normal daily life.  Hopefully spring break this week will help us get caught up so I can get caught up on other things besides.  Missed Word of the Year: Self Care post last week, hope to make it up this week.

Follow me on Instagram for more fun on our spring break!!!!!

Currently 3/6

I've have been doing a "Currently" post for quite awhile now.  It is fun for me to think about my week. To open up, and show bits and pieces of my daily thoughts, and life.

Highlights from my getaway...I attended a Leadership Retreat in Orlando.  Was nice to get away into some warmer weather but even more the messages I heard and fellowship I had!

Ongoing theme all week!!!!
All week, between retreat, church message and my daily devotions all were about
'being a leader vs being a manager'.
This is not just for my business but for ever aspect of my life!

Disney Springs
Friend and I took a couple of hours to explore Disney Springs.
Okay, I'll be honest what we really wanted was gluten free donuts!!!!!!!

 YUMMY!
Our brunch

Riverwalk Sanford
While waiting for the delayed flight to come in,
I headed to near by town for a walk along the lake.

Sister Weekend
Friday evening I picked up my sister from North Carolina
and we went to stay with our distance yet close cousin.

We went and saw a beautiful sunset on the ocean Saturday night!
Yes from a peninsula.   LOL

Sunday morning we took a quick trip to
Wekiwa Springs State Park
before I had to leave for the airport.

To finish off my trip, my hubby and older daughter came and
picked me up then took me out for supper before going
and picking up the rest of the kids from my parents.

All in all a good trip.  But glad to be home.

Even better my washing machine is WORKING!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now to get back to normal routine.
