Word of the Year: Self Care Vol 19

Word of the Year:  Self Care Vol 19

What does self care mean?  Self care is any activity that you do voluntarily that helps you maintain your physical, mental or emotional health.  It can help you feel healthy, relaxed and ready to take on your work and responsibilities.

This morning as I sits next to the lake to work.  I'm so thankful not only for the gifts of the earth I have been given to help others especially moms and their families.  But that I also have a flexible schedule which means I can take 20 minutes and enjoy this beautiful fall weather this morning.  Tried out a new trail this morning that I think I will be taking advantage of more often.  I struggle to fit exercise into my life most days. In the next few weeks I am going to try and make that a priority a bit more.  Sitting in the sun next to a window that faces over a beautiful lake is just an extra bonus!

These last couple weeks with Kezia in preschool I'm finding that I am a much better mom when I can set aside 4 hours each week to focus on my business and myself.  I always felt like a selfish mom when I did that but not only is she happier but so am I!  It's been a win/win.

Enjoying a beautiful fall morning walk

This view...now it's time to focus and work!

Currently 9/25

I've have been doing a "Currently" post for quite awhile now.  It is fun for me to think about my week. To open up, and show bits and pieces of my daily thoughts, and life.

Working on...Basement bathroom, it is a long work in process.  We did get the shower done before our company came for the weekend.

Harvest...Lot of tomatoes from the garden!  Looks like I will be making more sauce today.

Enjoying...My sister from North Carolina was here for the weekend.  We went shopping Thursday, then for church she wore her skirt that matches the girls dresses she made.

Celebrating...Our niece got married this weekend.  Zeke was in the wedding and got to walk down with his friend Elise.  They were so cute.

Laughing at...These two!  They are both 3 and full of energy and life this morning!  Of course have to get a kick out of Batman.

Fall Tour 2017

It's super warm here today with a high of 90 and high humidity but, fall is one of my favorite times of the year.  Maybe it's because my birthday is in the fall, or the garden is about done, lawn care slows down, or maybe it's just more of a normal schedule then our summer.  All in all it's my favorite time of the year to decorate the house.  Kezia and I went shopping at Hobby Lobby earlier in the week for a few new fun fall decorations.

Piano Top

New Sign on the China Hutch

Finally found a sign for above the stove, just need to hang it yet!

Being my kitchen is overflowing with 'HARVEST'
I felt like the 'Harvest Blessing' sign was fitting.

Fresh flowers always brightens my day!!!!!

Word of the Year:  Self Care Vol 18

What does self care mean?  Self care is any activity that you do voluntarily that helps you maintain your physical, mental or emotional health.  It can help you feel healthy, relaxed and ready to take on your work and responsibilities.

Fall means a bit more normal routine.  The three older kids are school and Kezia started preschool two times a week for a couple hours.  It will be good even though it means a LOT more time away from the house.  Occasionally I think it's good for me also being it keeps me dedicated in doing my daily devotions, more set work hours, etc.

This has also helped with some of my overwhelmed feelings I tend to get.  We have company coming and did some last minute basement remodeling.  This has been the helper to keep me from grounded, just a couple rubs over my heart.

Took some time to do a fall decorating also.  Tomorrow hopefully I will take you through a small tour.

Canning Season...My garden was SO small this year but my tomatoes are HUGE!  I've even done a little canning being my tomatoes have been a bumper crop which I wasn't quite expecting.

Fall Fellowship Weekend...We had a full weekend for church with my sister and brother in law hosting our 1st Annual Fall Fellowship Weekend in their new shed.  Was a fun, memory filled weekend!

Check out my sisters AMAZING mums!

Picking corn for the 'Corn Feed'.

Ezra enjoying the corn on Sunday at the 'Corn Feed'.

Sunday afternoon hayride.  Not quite as exciting as our Saturday night one in the dark where we blew a tire, tractor left to get a different wagon then it started to thunder and lightening.  We made it back just in time before the skies let loose!!!!!

Took some corn home to freeze!

This coming week...Jammed packed.  I keep telling myself life will slow down.  I'm starting to be resigned that, slowing down is NOT in my vocabulary!  This whole week, each day looks like this plus we have company coming which I'm super excited about. Hopefully in my spare half hours this week, I can find the guest bed in the basement that is the middle a construction and at the very least get the sheets washed!

New Adventure

This morning is Kezia's 2nd day of preschool, never have a seen a kid so excited to be going to school!  My goal is to take those couple hours twice a week to focus on my oil business.  After convention I feel called to try and help more people.  I think sometimes we get stuck in just managing what we currently have and forget to continue to share.  There is so many people in need and you might be one of them!

Normally I don't talk much about my oil business on my blog but...

I LOVE dōTERRA essential oils and have been crazy busy the last few weeks! Are you curious to know why? If you are brand new to dōTERRA (or essential oils period), I’d love to introduce you to these fantastic oils and Spoil Your Senses with dōTERRA! I’ll send you 7 samples that are natural solutions for supporting mood during times of stress, energy, aches/pains, restful sleep, and immunity support. I’ll add you to a Facebook event group where every day from Sept 18-22 my team will be live-streaming about how to use your samples, as well as posting tons of info, and answering questions. Tuesday Humor

Today my youngest started preschool, she is growing up way too fast.  Now we are home for the afternoon and I need to do some serious cleaning after being gone for a few days.  But maybe I should just live by this saying...

Happy Tuesday!!!!!!
