I've have been doing a "Currently" post for quite awhile now.  It is fun for me to think about my week. To open up, and show bits and pieces of my daily thoughts, and life.

More snow...Over the weekend we go a few more inches of snow.  The big kids sure enjoyed moving snow with the 4 wheeler.  Lots of laughter was happening even though their faces were so cold!

Living Room Forts...Do you remember making forts as a kid?  I know I really enjoyed it.  Which is why I let the kids make them even if they are quite the mess.

Cleanse...I've set aside the next 30 days to focus on my digestive health and cleansing my body. It’s really not super hard, supplements, making healthy food choices, and water intake. Also being intentional with my quiet time, body movement and self care.

I've have been doing a "Currently" post for quite awhile now.  It is fun for me to think about my week. To open up, and show bits and pieces of my daily thoughts, and life.

Excitement...Kezia won a drawing at our local dentist.  We love Dr Conners and Dr Show, the kids always enjoy going to the dentist.

Growing up...Ezra is a freshman this year and that means high school basketball.  Thursday night was an exciting night for them.  Every single kid on the team scored a point!!!  Ezra had 2 three pointers.  He was super excited.  He even tied his own tie for the first time.

Hardtimes...It was also a week full of hard things.  Realized our cat that I was taking in to be neutered had a tail injury.

Same day, our well was froze which I was able to unfreeze but added to the stress.

Thursday it was confirmed he had a break in his spine that affected his nerves to release any of his waste, which lead to the decision to put him to sleep.  Boy was that a hard thing but he got to enjoy time inside with the kids for a couple days.

Shout out to Pierce County Veterinary in Ellsworth their staff was amazing!

Cooping...This combo together kept me going on the hard days I had this week.

I've have been doing a "Currently" post for quite awhile now.  It is fun for me to think about my week. To open up, and show bits and pieces of my daily thoughts, and life.

Winter Break...Each year on Winter Break we go as a family to Three Bears in Warrens, WI.  Fun little tradition we started I think 6 years ago.  This year the boys didn't feel the greatest so slept a lot and didn't enjoy the swimming like normal. But the girls really enjoyed the tube slides and playing games in the hotel room.

Little Cutie...She got glasses!  During her kindergarten Ear & Eye Screening they suggested we take her in to have her eyes tested.  She has astigmatisms in both eyes and I believe near sighted.  Right now we aren't doing much correction just getting her eyes to relax from her astigmatism.  It's been a great transition, no headaches, puts them on in the morning and leaves them on all day.

New Years Eve PJs...Another tradition.  7 years ago I started making the kids New Years Eve PJs over winter break to wear New Year Eve that we host.  Ever since except one year where I wasn't home we have made them.  Now they pretty much sew their own!

Weather...We have actually had some really nice weather after our crazy start in November!  Yes a few icky days of roads but nothing that completely stopped us. All I can say, it sure is pretty!!!  And I'm so thankful to have a warm house.

Silly Girl...Being silly at Kezia's first eye doctor appointment.  School caught some eye issues during screening with this little girl.  Glasses are ordered.

More Weather...Last week we got more snow.  Thankfully this week, no more snow but forecast does call for cooler temps than normal.

Cleansing...Have you ever considered a cleanse? Why could you need a cleanse?

  • If you’ve never cleansed before and you’ve not had the cleanest lifestyle
  • Rashes and skin infections
  • Feeling bloated
  • Irritation, unmotivated and sluggish
  • Feeling drained, tired and foggy headed
  • Bad breath
  • Irregular periods
  • Acne
  • If you’ve had a terrible diet for the last gazillion years!
  • Aches and pains
  • Frequent Headaches

January I am going to be hosting a 30 Day Cleanse Group, with a daily check in.  Cause accountability is SO important!

Full House...Last week was a full week.  Family from Texas at our house for the week.  Fun to have an extra 5 people here, I think I've recovered.  Lots of food, games, laughter, etc.

SNOW...We got 8+ inches Tuesday night.  Texas kids were SO excited!!!!!
They had NEVER seen snow like this.

Traditions...Each year the kids make Thanksgiving cookies.  This year we have 4 extra kids to help.  Kept it simple with 8 kids.

Trying to get back into the swing of blogging again.  Sadly I find Instagram much easier in my busy life but will give this a try again.  So here's a little peek into what our life has looked like.

New Kitty...Isn't this little guy super cute.  He can be pretty annoying but oh so cute!  I need to make an appointment to get him fixed soon than later being he's definitely adopted us.

K is for Kezia...She asked me to take her picture with the K after school the other day.

Fall Flowers...There is just something about fall flowers to brighten up a house.

Weekend...Saturday night I stayed home completely alone for the first time ever I think in 15 years! Friday night it was just Kezia and I for a lazy Friday night with Bible stories and hot cup of tea.

Where is this summer going?  Can't believe July is here already.

Softball...Hannah had her last softball game for the season last week.

Baseball...Ezra is almost done with baseball for the season, just a couple more games.

What I Wore...Talking of baseball/softball, I got a fun shirt.  More on this weeks 'What I Wore' post.  I apparently have been remembering to take pictures but not posting them, so a month in review post coming.

Fun...Few of us got together to make some Summer Sanity Rollers.  It was nice to have an evening of relaxing adult conversation.  Plus make some much needed Summer Essential Oil Rollers!

Closing out the week...Saturday night the sunset was beautiful.  Was a great way to end the week!

Well apparently life doesn't slow down in this old house, more like keeps getting crazier!!!!  It is 9:30 on a Wednesday night, normally this time during the school year I'm already in bed.

This shirt pretty much continues to sum up my life right now...
Baseball/Softball!

Since I last posted here is a summary of our weeks.

The 2 oldest had orthodontist appointments.  Looking like Ezra might be getting braces the end of the July! After that we had lunch and walked the pier since neither had done that.  Then headed to podiatry appointment for Hannah.  Poor thing inherited her daddy's flat feet.

Hannah and I met up with friends from Washington on their way to Fargo for a wedding.  Nice relaxing day at Como Zoo, supper and just sitting on campus talking.

Tried my first 'Grilled Rachel' very yummy!!!

My hubby bought me a brush guard for my Suburban last week.  This Suburban might be old, but we have put many many miles on it, many family trips, and paid cash.

Friday we picked up Christian from work, then Ezra from Valley Fair where he performed with the band and headed towards Fargo for the weekend.

Where Kezia got to wear the dress I made my niece Ashley over 15 years ago!

The kids got to play for hours with some friends.

Then back home for swimming lessons!

And more ball games!!!!!!  Not sure who is more tired, the kids or mom?!?!??!

I am just so thankful that I am here and able to do all these things with the kids, making memories.  That is what summer break is about.

Blessings

Hold on tight, summer break has officially started at the Nelson house.  This week we have 3 baseball games, 2 softball games, 3 band practices, 3 days of basketball camp, Ezra has a band performance at Valley Fair, wedding in Fargo, what did I miss?!?!?!?  That is just the upcoming week, what about last week.

Lunch with friends & Day Trip to Children's Museum

Zeke lost another tooth!

Ezra attended a 'Men's Retreat' in Alfred, ND
He got to enjoy some fishing, here he is holding a 36 inch Northern Pike!

Girls day running errands & lunch

Plus a couple baseball games and a softball game.

I'm enjoying not having to get everyone up for school, especially with our crazy schedule.  It also gives me a little time each morning to head outside before the craziness begins each day!!!!!

Christian and I also got to enjoy a mini date to Menards and supper Friday night, plus no kids Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday morning thanks for my mom! Mini dates are always good for a marriage.

Praying you have a blessed week.  Follow us on Instragram for more adventures.

Hmmm where do I begin.  It's been awhile since I posted a 'Currently' but going to just jump right back in!

Thankful...Time to do yard work yesterday in MUCH nicer weather.

Worked a bit more on the new hosta bed by the door

Fruit Trees!
Still don't know what to do with the nut bushes.  This bed has be baffled on what to do with it!

Excited...Today is the kids last day of school for the year.  Not sure how is more excited them or me!!!!

Planning...Attempting to work on a Summer Bucket List, Journals and Devotions for the kids this summer.  I'm working on having less screen time for us all, few day trips, baseball, softball, swimming lessons, etc.

Image result for hands free mama

Currently I'm half way through this book.  A lot of things I already do but I'm also realizing working from home means that kids see me on an electronic too often.  So this summer I'm attempting a few completely nonelectronic day with them! Cause life won't slow down, I have to set the speed!!!!

Here is to the start of summer vacation.  I have a few 'projects' for the summer but mostly try to make the most of our time together.  Cherishing these days I do have with the kids!
