Word of the Year: Content Vol 15

Content

adjective  simple definition:  pleased and satisfied, not needing more

I haven't wrote a 'Content' post in way too long.  The problem hasn't been so much that I don't feel content but more I'm a crazy mom of 4 trying to make memories this summer.  Yet...I have had my share of discontent thoughts in the last few weeks.  Is it bad that I have been trying to document our activities so in years to come I can look at them with happiness and NOT remember the frustration I was probably feeling at the time?!?!?  Many moms I talk with have the same feelings.  Personally think that is okay.  Life doesn't have to be perfect.  Ask your kids, good chance they remember daily life a little different then you do.  Which leads to my personal goal:

This picture shows our true selves and the saying exactly what my husband and I are trying to do.  In order to follow that verse, my husband and I need to show them an example of serving the Lord.  Sometimes that is finding a sitter for an evening for just us, setting time aside to better our health, and study daily with personal walk with the Lord.

What example are you showing?

The last few months I have been doing a "Currently" post.  It is fun for me to think about my week. To open up, and show bits and pieces of my daily thoughts, and life.

The whole week was spent around family!!!

Together...Over the weekend we had EVERYONE together!  All of my siblings were home, one from North Carolina, North Dakota, even Columbia to celebrate my niece's marriage!

Top:  Whole Family    Left:  Siblings      Right: My family

Zoo Time:  It was super hot last week but we were brave and went to the zoo with one of my sisters and her kids.  Plus my sister from NC and her husband surprised everyone (yes I helped coordinate it!) by showing up at the zoo.

Swimming Lessons:  The 3 oldest finished their lessons.  Friday they got to go off the diving board.

Seems like the summer is going by way to fast.  Going to start working on fair projects this week.  Finish few more nights of swimming lessons.  Maybe even a surprise day trip with the kiddos this week!

Poor Little Guy...Last week this little guy either got bite by something or stung in the ear.  It swelled to the point of it seeming impossible!  Thankfully he is now back to normal just a concern of possible anaphylactic allergy like me.

Thankful for...My hubby of 13 years!  We were able to take a short date night while Papa Jack and our niece came and watched the kids for us.  Caught them still reading when we got home.

Enjoying...My sister and her family are up from Colombia.  Being so far away and tough with 3 little ones we are making the most of her visit.  Big kids have had a sleep over, birthday party for her husband, splash pad fun, plans for a visit to the zoo, family get together with all of my siblings, their spouses and kids!!!!!

Remembering this week...I've put this on the lock screen of my phone, in the craziness of my daily life, sometimes I need the reminder.

Have a blessed week!  Looks like a busy and fun one here!!!!!

Loving...Our oldest turned 11th last week.  Love how he has become such a young man with such a loving heart!

Decision...Ordered a FitBit that came last week.  Decided it was time to focus on mom a little.  Trying to get myself moving a bit more each day, starting to track my food.

Party...Sunday we celebrated his birthday with family.  He picked 'Piano Theme'.  More pictures on his party later this week!

Swimming Lessons...Next couple weeks will be full of swimming lessons for all 4 kids!  Today they all struggled with a few things in their lessons but fun to see at the end of the two weeks how much stronger they have gotten and can master the strokes/fears that had the 1st day!!!!

Praying you have a blessed week!

The last few months I have been doing a "Currently" post.  It is fun for me to think about my week. To open up, and show bits and pieces of my daily thoughts, and life.

Enjoying...After church we went over to my Aunt's.  She spoiled the kids with a Gator ride, feeding the chickens, picking raspberries, and pony rides.

Happy 4th...Blessed with a beautiful day with family and friends!  Kids had fun baseball games, lots of good food, then finished the day off back in town for sparklers and fireworks.  Even better I got to ride with my hubby on the motorcycle back home.

Organizing...My playroom has always been a tough spot in our house.  We had a nasty couch that lasted through 4 kids potty training, illnesses, etc.  The playroom/office use to be a porch in our old farmhouse that we have put new windows and heat to turn into a four season porch.  I found a CHEAP deck set which fits the character of the room and is smaller then regular furniture.  After putting it all together I ended up rearranging the room but think it will be a work on progress for awhile.  The shape and size of the room makes it slightly challenging.

Planning...Can't believe my oldest is going to be 11 in a couple days!!!  His birthday party is this weekend and 'Piano' theme.  Should be a fun day filled with family and friends again.

Hope you have a blessed week!
